Our History

ASU was established in 1987 at Binghamton University, NY. Since then, it has become one of the largest cultural groups, representing over 20% of the student body on campus. As the umbrella organization of seven subgroups, ASU hosts new social, cultural, and community events every single week. Currently, ASU boasts a large community of over 200 student leaders and general body members.

MISSION STATEMENT

ASU’s mission is to serve to defy stereotypes, define culture, maintain a sense of tradition, and consider what it is to be Asian American in today’s world. ASU aims to uphold and maintain the cultural and social spaces that Asians and Asian-Americans occupy through community initiatives, performance showcases, and social and cultural events that empower our student body.
